“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
What is it the problem you face? Is it financial, delayed marriage, facing foreclosure, marital or domestic issues, way ward children, job search, upgrade of education, etc.? Can you put it through this litmus test first before you go breaking down and cry?
1. Is it bigger than something God has taken care of in your life in the past?
2. Is it bigger than what you know God has done in the past in someone’s life or even in     history?
3. Is it a light affliction like that of Paul in the new testament of the Christian Bible or a heavy affliction? (2 Corinthians 4:17‭, 11:25-29)
4. Is it bigger than God your Creator and the Creator of the universe?
If your issue can pass this litmus test, then you can go on ahead, break down and cry, for there is no hope for you. Take a little time to read Paul’s light afflictions and you may likewise read that of any successful person you know:
“Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;  In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?” 2 Corinthians 11:25‭-‬29 KJV
So tell me. Can your situation pass the test? If your situation can’t pass the test, then brace yourself my dear one and laugh your heart out till your ribs hurt, and relax.
There is nothing happening to you now, that hasn’t happened to someone before, for there is nothing new under the sun. The problem we face today, is experienced all around the world: it’s the same everywhere you go: What will I eat tomorrow? Will I be able to survive till tomorrow? I lost my job. I have completed school for 2 years now and still haven’t found job. The landlord is demanding the rent. I am facing a foreclosure in 2 days. My wife is unbearable. My husband is cheating on me.  I have terminal disease and I don’t know what to do. The list continues.
Of course, not everyone was able to overcome their situations. But that doesn’t mean there wasn’t a way out: for whatever that happens, is something common to man and there is always a way of escape. And if you will be sober enough, you will find it. Learn to guard your heart: and I mean your thoughts. Try to meditate on what makes you feel good and not that which makes you worry and fret. A positive mind is good for the body and has the ability to bring solutions to some issues. But a sure thing is to meditate on the written word of God in the bible, by searching out what particular scripture that best addresses your situation and meditate on it constantly and trust that God’s word is true and does not fail.
To follow the example of those who overcame their difficult times and made it, will be a good thing. These were forward looking people who for the joy set before them, made light their troubles, knowing it could not compare with the benefits ahead. All the great stories you may have read of others could be yours as well. If you can just hold on for a while with hope and keep fighting ahead, in time yours will be an example for others. By all means don’t give up, for that is one thing their examples teach us.
Sometimes, it may mean changing the way you do things. One can’t be doing the same thing over and over and expect different results. On the other hand, these seeming difficult situations, are sometimes actually molehills that have been turned into mountains by our own imaginations. But if we are willing to be sober and take a critical look, we find that they were only like roaring lions, but not lions: shadows of our own imaginations.
By all means, do something about your situation to make it better. But know that your situation is common among men and there’s always a way of escape and if only you will be sober enough, and not be hysterical about it, you will find a solution.
There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Remember the darkest night is closest to the dawn. Wait a minute! Dawn is here. Can you see it?

Be There
Be there for someone by a phone call. Be there by a helping hand. Be there with an encouraging word. Be there on social media to say hello or encourage others. Be there.
*And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8).*

Whatever the need, irrespective of the circumstances, He wants you to be self-sufficient, so much so that you require no aid or support. The reason for being self-sufficient in all things is for you to abound in good works. That immediately brings something to mind: you really don’t live for yourself, but for other people.

A wise man, Rev. B.K Arthur Snr. once told me a story about life. He said there are 3 major events in a man’s (human beings) life; when he is born, when he marries and when he dies. Of all these, it’s only one the man sees. And like all the other major events, it’s others that suffer in the process most. So if your life doesn’t become of benefit to someone or society, you are of all men most useless.
God will make happen for you what you make happen for others. If you bless people, you’ll always be lifted. This is because your promotion is in promoting others. You’re a greater success as you help others to succeed.
There are many people in distress for example, whose healing will be perfected and their needs met, if only they’d, for a moment, look away from their own pains and needs and be there for others.
So go! Be there for someone today, for that is the beauty of life. Let someone smile today. Keep giving, and keep helping those around you to stand strong. When you get a bit concerned about helping others, God will take care of your own desires.
And the world will be a better place.
